By unleashing the power of citizens, AmeriCorps and Senior Corps programs have a positive and lasting impact Ė making our cities and counties better places to live. To spotlight the impact of national service and thank those who serve, mayors across the country will participate in the third-annual Mayors Day of Recognition for National Service on April 7, 2015.

UT's Sustainability Day of Service

Join the Center for Leadership & Service, Freshman Council and UTK's Office of Sustainability for UT's second annual sustainability focused day of service on April 11, 2015. Click here to sign up today! Students will volunteer from 8:30 to noon with agencies that promote environmental awareness, sustainability, conservation and recycling. Service assignments will include gardening, removal of invasive species, litter cleanup, river cleanup, and more! Check in will be at 8:30am on April 11 at the University Center. Transportation will be provided for participants. Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably, in close-toed shoes, and in clothing that can get a little dirty! It is also recommended to bring work gloves, but is not required.
River Rescue- River Cleanup

Join Ijams Nature Center for our 26th annual river and creek clean up that takes place at over 40 sites all over Knoxville and surrounding areas. Last year there were over 1,000 volunteers come out and clean tons of trash from our waterways. This event is truly a community effort and we need your help to clean our river.
