Our Schools Programs
We love to visit schools, aftercare programs, camps, clubs, and other children's groups! Programs typically last 30-45 minutes and are free-of-charge.
Talking Tree Presentation
The Talking Tree has been part of KKB's education program for years. This interactive environmental stewardship lesson teaches students about the function and importance trees and may be paired with a book and game.
Papermaking is a hands-on recycling activity that teaches students how to reuse old paper to make something new.
The 3 R's
Students will learn about how to reduce, reuse, and recycle. This presentation often includes a book and craft/game.
Dr. Seuss and Resource Use
Students will learn about renewable and nonrenewable resources followed by a reading and discussion of The Lorax by Dr. Seuss.
Students will learn about litter prevention and eradication. This presentation often includes a book and activity sheet/game.
Students will learn about greenhouse gases and how to reuse food scraps through composting. This presentation includes a mini composter making activity or an activity sheet.
We have a variety of recycled crafts such as toilet paper roll rockets and egg carton caterpillars.
Our books include The Lorax, The Giving Tree, Michael Recycles, Litterbug Doug, and more!
