29th Annual River Rescue

Join us for Ijams Nature Center's 29th Annual River Rescue presented by TVA and Dow Chemical Company. Last year, almost 700 volunteers cleaned various sites along the Tennessee River and associated waterways and removed 11.5 tons of garbage! This year, Keep Knoxville Beautiful will be hosting a site in East Knoxville. Exact locations are TBD but mark your calendars!

Making Bottle Cap Flowers

Join us at New Hopewell Elementary as we make bottle cap flowers for the school to display outside. The students collected thousands of bottle caps for this project and learned about reusing items. Join us on Saturday, Jan. 27 as we pick up litter along South Chestnut Street from Biddle St. to Magnolia Ave. Volunteers can also carry supplies to remove graffiti from metal surfaces if any is seen throughout the cleanup. 

Please meet us at Shiloh United Presbyterian Church (904 Biddle St, Knoxville, TN 37914) to sign in and get supplies.

Volunteers are needed to plant fruit trees in different locations around the Knoxville. We will meet up at Beardsley Farm to learn how to properly plant fruit trees. We will then break out into smaller groups and travel to other planting locations. All fruit produced by the trees will be free for the public to take and enjoy.

Open Streets Knoxville brings together community groups and local businesses, giving people of all ages and abilities the opportunity to walk, ride bikes, hula hoop, and much more - all in a setting that is fun and safe! More than a street festival, Open Streets Knoxville gives residents an opportunity to explore their neighborhood and local businesses in a safe, fun, and family-friendly way. It encourages the use of active transportation and healthy living, and has a goal of giving residents an opportunity to rethink our streets as public space. 

KKB will have a table set up and will provide plastic bags and gloves to pick up litter while you explore the festival! Bring us back your bag when you're done and have your choice of a free water bottle or reusable bag.

Join the Neighborhood Working Group to plant daffodil bulbs on Brooks Ave. in front of Sarah Moore Green Magnet Academy. The Neighborhood Working Group is a group of neighborhood representatives who meet with city officials to discuss policies and programs that address the problem of blighted properties.

2017 Rocky Top Pickin' Party

Come join KKB for a relaxing fall evening of music, pickin', food, and friends.

The Rocky Top Pickin’ Party will feature the musical talents of Kelsey's Woods under an East Tennessee full moon at the historic Mabry-Hazen House, just one mile east of downtown Knoxville.

This family-friendly and waste-free fundraiser for KKB, is unlike any other in Knoxville; in between sets, pickers of all levels will form break out pickin' parties around the grounds. Food trucks will be on-site.

All proceeds benefit Keep Knoxville Beautiful's programs.

Volunteers are needed to clean the grounds of the historic Mabry-Hazen House between the hours of 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in preparation for fall and our Rocky Top Pickin' Party. 

Activities will include leaf and brush removal, mulching, dead tree removal, garden bed weed removal, and general grounds cleaning. Some tools will be provided, but volunteers are encouraged to bring rakes, shears, shovels, tarps, pruners, trowels, and similar yard and garden tools. (http://www.mabryhazen.com/fall-cleanup/)

Downtown North Mural Priming

PLEASE REGISTER HERE. 

Please note: This event has been moved to Tuesday due to incoming weather on Wednesday. 

We've teamed up with Scripps Networks Interactive to create a new mural in Downtown North, and volunteers are needed to prime two walls in preparation! Volunteers must have a steady hand and experience using a hand roller.

All supplies will be provided, and volunteers can come and go at anytime between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Located at the intersection of Bearden Pl. and Irwin St. (across from High Resolutions Inc).
