For KKB’s June Saturday Spruce Up, we are partnering with the Water Quality Forum to support their Cheers to Clean Water Cleanup!
Join the Water Quality Forum, Keep Knoxville Beautiful, and the City of Knoxville for the 7th Annual "Cheers to Clean Water: Tennessee River Paddle-Off Litter Cleanup" on Saturday, June 14th, 2025 from 10am-12pm at Ijams Nature Center. The Water Quality Forum is a diverse coalition working towards keeping our East Tennessee waterways clean through educational outreach sessions, outdoor activities that build a relationship with nature, and much more.
Come float down a portion of the Tennessee River, removing litter and taking in the scenic views of downtown Knoxville. We will focus our efforts on the shorelines where larger boats cannot easily get to the debris that has accumulated.
The cleanup will start and end at the Ijams Nature Center boat launch. Those interested in participating may bring their own boat or sign up to borrow a boat provided by Ijams Nature Center.
We invite all participants to join us after the cleanup at the Ijams Visit Center for a celebration! There will be free food (vegetarian/vegan options included) and beverages. Beer will also be available (donations encouraged). Come hangout, check out the vendors, and refuel after an afternoon of cleaning up our waterways!
