A Year of KKB: July 2025-June 2026

It has been a great year! We want to reflect on and celebrate all the work our volunteers and staff have done this fiscal year. Thank you, everyone, for keeping Knoxville clean, green, and beautiful!

July 2025

Thank you to our Adopt-A-Road groups for getting out in the summer heat to take care of our city and remove 585 lbs of litter!

We attended the Keep Tennessee Beautiful Conference in Murfreesboro and toured the WM Chestnut Ridge Landfill with our board members.

October 2025

Highlights: October Saturday Spruce Up, graffiti removal at Sharp’s Ridge, tabling at the Farmer’s Market and Spooky Streets, and teaching students about recycling at the KOLC Outdoor Field Trip.

Highlights: Rescheduled January Saturday Spruce Up, tabling at the US Bank Volunteer Fair and Dogwood Arts House and Garden Show, and the North Knoxville Community Cleanup.

March 2026

March was the top month for education with 50 programs at schools around Knox County!

A lot happened this month! We hired our Operations Manager, Shannett, and took over the four city recycling drop-off centers. Our March Saturday Spruce Up at Longview Cemetery was very successful, and we collected 7,280 lbs of litter and 78 tires! We also removed 1,605 lbs of litter from North Broadway and installed trash cans at the KAT bus stops.

April 2026

Earth Month had the most Adopt-A-Stream cleanups, tabling events, and beautification projects!

Highlights: Schoolscapes projects at Adrian Burnett Elementary and Vine Middle School, the field trip to the WM Chestnut Ridge Landfill with the Girl Scouts, UT Earth Day Festival and our South Knoxville Community Cleanup.

May 2026

Highlights: WaterFest, Third Creek Paddle, Cattywampus, Open Streets, and TVA Creek Cleanup.

Thank you for your hard work at the Third Creek Paddle removing invasives from the banks!

 

In May, we drove around Knox County doing our annual Litter Survey, and we found that there has been a decrease in litter this year! Awesome job, Knoxville!

June 2026

We are having lots of fun this summer doing activities at Kid A’Riffic and at our Corona Cleanup and Glass Recycling event!
