Thank You For Keeping America Beautiful!
Happy 250th Birthday, America!
This spring 2026, Keep America Beautiful hosted the Greatest American Cleanup Challenge! This campaign supported the Greatest American Cleanup, KAB’s national movement to clean and green communities from coast-to-coast so America could shine on her 250th birthday on July 4, 2026. Keep America Beautiful’s goal with the Challenge was to activate all Americans, including dedicated volunteers and community members, to collectively pick up 25 million pieces of trash from March 20 to July 4.
Thank you, Keep Knoxville Beautiful volunteers, for keeping Knoxville and America clean!
From March 20 to July 4, KKB volunteers cleaned up 25,676 lbs of litter!
25,676 lbs of litter is equivalent to…
3 hippos
6 giraffes
9 cars
17 cows
20 polar bears
35 grand pianos
By removing litter and educating others about its harmful impacts, you help keep the Earth clean for generations to come. We appreciate your hard work, and we want you to know that you are making a difference across America.
According to Keep America Beautiful’s 2026 National Litter Study, litter in America has gone down by 34% since 2020.

While litter is down, the problem is far from solved. There are still 35 billion pieces of litter across America’s roadways, waterways, and coastal areas.
This is why we need YOU!
